Last.
If anyone is wondering, the program I use to brighten these images is Adobe Photoshop Elements. Its the basic Photoshop package and I just use the image enhancement mode. Works pretty well. No matter how dark or old an image is. as long as there are pixels, they can be enhanced.

What I'm wondering about is if anything is wrong with your monitor...:)

Army ford

Okay, I'm being lazy and not going to grab the books. That said most of the Army Fords I have seen didn't have the turn signal and often the headlight sheetmetal punched out. They had military style lights placed on top of the fender.

My Monitor

Hi Hanno
Nothing wrong with my monitor. I find a lot of the posted images are too dark thereby losing a lot of detail. I notice that two of my enhanced images are missing but the third is there. Any reason why? If you feel my enhancing isn't warranted and wasting valuable space I won't carry on with the practice apart for my own edification.

Bob, I noticed today when browsing the forum using a kathode ray monitor many images are darker than when viewed on either of my two new fangled flat display thingys. So each viewer might want to adjust brightness, either by adjusting the screen or adjusting the picture. Indeed I feel we're wasting valuable space re-attaching various versions of enhanced pictures, especially since there doesn't seem to be a single ideal enhancement. You as a salesman should know the slogan "don't try this at home, your results may vary" :D

Cheers mate!

Monitors

Hanno
I take your point on the different types of monitors and their adjustments. I can only go by my results. However according to my monitor my two images on this thread are as different as chalk and cheeze. The detail on the enhanced version is quite explicit. If it is my monitor why should those two images be different. Regarding your monitor, do you get as much detail out of the darker image as you may get out of my enhanced image. It depends on your answer what I will do with my monitor.

Always interested to learn

Regards - Bob

Bob, on my current LCD monitor the original images are very detailed and well-balanced. Viewing your enhanced pictures on my screen they appear too bright, to the point they actually loose detail. What I found out is that while enhancing a picture for a good result on one type of screen, it can lead to wholly different results on another type of screen.

Sean, the one you photographed indeed has no turn signals, but does have the regular headlights fitted.

As far as I know, only the SnoGo cabs did not have the headlight sheetmetal punched out, as the headlights would have been behind the snowblower, and thus were fitted on top of the cab.
