Wirraways and the Air Training Corps

Two movies with sound:

AWM F02074 and F02204

The looks on the faces of those guys in the air/ground lectures :confused

The ATC movie shows the very early days of Moorabbin airport Melbourne with a grass airstrip.

Maybe somebody can provide the web links , not possible for me to do as I have dialup .

Just watched F02074, things I liked were nearly all the officers had moustaches, the sandwiches wrapped up in newspaper, lovely low level fly past at the end of the course.
Interesting to see the F60L Anti tank portee being used as a tractor, I am assuming they used what ever the school were given and wouldn't have been very high on the transport list, even the guns looked old.

Cheers Ken

song

If somebody forced me to listen to that song again, when the WAAAF girls are packing the food, I would commit suicide :D

The low level flypast looked ruddy dangerous to me , they are only a few feet apart and so near the ground .

School of Army Co-op

I was fortunate to interview the CO of that school, Rolly Allman some years ago when he was at the rather ripe old age of 102, still living independently.
Absolutely sharp as a tack too, it was a very interesting interview.
