Search-able CMP parts book?
Hi All
Does anyone have any of the CMP parts book as a search-able data base? I was doing some parts hunting in the HUP parts book and decided to get organize and scan the page in so I could make notes. That lead to hitting the OCR program and all of a sudden I had a MS Word document copy of the page that can be searched. Before I run all my CMP parts books through the scanner has anybody already done all the work? Cheers Phil |
... nope, haven't done that yet, but should be easy with a good high resolution scan and a good OCR programm.

I've got the HUP parts book as PDF.
Hi All
The HUP one was easy because I had copied it years ago it is a June 1945 edition and Bart Vanderveen didn't have that date so I made a copy and sent it to him. While copying it I'd made an extra loose copy which had fed into the document copier/scanner at work back in 2000. So I have it as PDF on CD the next step will be to see if my OCR program can read a section of the CD at a time. Because of the CD file structure the book is one big file. But why I was asking if anybody else had played this game already so I could piggyback on their work or do I have to start from scratch. I only have the HUP or C8A-04 parts list and the C60L-03 to work from. I'll take a look at what the registry has and see if my OCR program can pick it off. Any thoughts welcome and I'll keep you posted. Cheers Phil |
