Unwelcome posts on this Forum

Hello, all. There seems to be a person with the e-mail address of ginaguy18pOr who is posting smut on our forum.

I've advised forum moderator via two means about this situation.

Hopefully, Sunray will block this idiot from posting further garbage.

Re: ginaguy18pOr

Jon's right, this guy is an idiot, no need for that kind of stuff here on the forum. Please block him from further postings.

Just a thought, maybe he came across the site by the "soft skin" category? A lot of porn is hidden using terms that appear innocuous.

Mark W. Tonner 22-02-03 14:36

Re: "soft skin" category?

Bill, I doubt it, not with the title MILITARY VEHICLES right above the category, on the home page.

Cheers :)

Re: followup - "soft skin" category?

Bill, he's even posted it under the WW2 MILITARY HISTORY & EQUIPMENT CATEGORY - and his post certainly has nothing to do with Military History or Military Equipment.

Cheers :)

Hi Mark I did a quick search with google using "soft skin" and got 83,700 hits, which, within the first three pages, listed a military book site and a couple of sex sites. I guess it depends on how a search is done. If this guy is trying to drum up business some way he may search anything remotely connected to the topic and then post. Somewhere I read that porn is the biggest business on the net. Just a thought anyways. Bill:cool:

He/she/it will be gone in five minutes....

Mark W. Tonner 22-02-03 15:14

Morning Bill, that may be how he got to the "soft skin" category, but the WW2 Military History & Equipment category???

Cheers :)

P.S. - may have some flashes/badges you may be interested in, will scan & send, sometime today.

Re: Suray Sends - Gone in 5

"55 Roger Out."

Thanks Sunray

Cheers :)

Gone & forgotten...

He's out. Incidently, the other new user "yummy-juice_25" is gone too, has the same IP address. I'll see where that resolves this morning....

Re: "yummy-juice_25"

Geoff, thought that handle was rather odd. Their's one in every crowd.

Cheers :)

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 22-02-03 15:31

Found another one, too! Different email, same IP.

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 22-02-03 15:46

BTW, our spammer is in Perth, Western Australia... do we have anyone there who might be affected by my IP ban?

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 22-02-03 22:23

BTW, I've filed a formal complaint with his ISP, which happens to be at:

address: iiNet Limited
address: Level 6, Durack Centre
address: 263 Adelaide Terrace
address: Perth WA 6000

These companies tend to take these things seriously because of the legal implications.

It looks like a dialup account and there's probably a limited amount of harm we can bring to this scum directly, but I'll keep an eye on this. Thanks to those who emailed either directly or via the Report Function... I was out late last night and just missed the fun. :)

Pornographers, spammers and internet virus-writers should be publicly executed...

My changing that title won't make a difference, Bill. Don't forget, it's been on the MLU site proper since 1998. People like this cruise forums anywhere they can be found, just LOOKING for the opportunity to spam, in the hopes they'll grab a customer or two before they get zapped. You can't keep them out, only deal with them once they've reaered their filthy heads. We're new, and they'll go away eventually once they find out we're not fooling around.

I STILL say that ritual execution on public television should be the rote for these fools.

Skin so soft

Hi Geoff
No intention to suggest that Soft Skin would make a difference. These morons on the net use all kinds of terms to further their ends and will use almost any way to get people to their sites. Some time ago I was looking for a digital camera and I did a search, and on the first page of responses there were 3 "hidden" sites that were porn. On a couple of sites, once you went in you couldn't back out. It will be up to the "public" users to get these scum controlled. The only problem is that they are providing a "service" and without customers they wouldn't still be on the net. Bill :(

Ain't THAT the pitiful truth, eh?

BTW, I zapped another one tonight... his IP resolved to Brazil, but his email domain was one and the same as the other guy(s). They must circulate URLs like ours when they find them.

We had them on Tanknet as well for a while, until they learned we don't 'take prisoners'. This will pass.
