Many thanks in advance James |
Anything In Particular?
Hi James
Anything you are trying to see on or in a HUP? I've got a few photos on my Web page, as a starting point here are some links: http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/ Home page on owning a HUP 30+ years other CMPs http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/HUPdetailphotos.html photos in response to question http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/H...12%20Index.htm index of HUP overhaul http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/H...Y%20PHOTOS.htm Detailed body photos On/in MLU there have been many interesting threads on HUPs over the years, and hopefully your question will add more photos of HUPs which we have not seen. MLU can be difficult to search, so hopefully some of the better threads will be highlighted by members. Cheers Phil |
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the links. I will have a good look in the morning. I have just bought a HUP and the rear area behind the bulkhead is empty. So any close up photos of the storage bins and the small details would be great. The HUP is an earlier version without the spare wheel. Thanks again James |
Is the outer shell complete?
Hi James
So you are looking for details on standard HUP, which would include the bench seat, two rear seats similar to the front seats, baskets over the rear wheels, and the interior canvas curtains. I take it that your outer body is complete? You mentioned that yours has both middle doors. In the last few years there have been a number of HUPs restored which had the rear part of the body cut off. Some of these have included fabricating the middle bench seat with tool box. There are some archive photos if my memory is correct which would be of help, hope some of these will be posted. Cheers Phil |

Hi Phil,
Thats exactly it. The bins, bench seat etc. THe outer body is in lovely condition, a few bolts to change here and there but basically very sound. It looks like this HUP had the rear part of the roof and body cut off, level with the window ledge. This has been welded back on or had an original roof welded on. The sliding roof looks original but has been heavily reinforced with angle iron on the edges and braces across it. The wheels and runners look correct but all the handles and locks are gone. Something else to look for! Cheers James |

Hi Bruce,
We might get her to W&P this year, given a bit of luck. She might not be finished though, so we will see. James |
Nice catch James. You have quite the rolling CMP museum by now.

Thanks Alex,
My white Scout car is sold now, just waiting for it to go to the Netherlands. So apart from my jeep I will just have CMPs :thup2: James |
Hi James,
