cowl mounting

First of all Happy new year to all .

So first question , Should there be washers behind the bolts that hold the front end to the cab ?
In the front mudguard slotted holes there should be , but like in the US truck manuals it tells you what should be there , there is no mention in the Canadian manuals , Who nows for sure.

Forgot to mention , it is for the 13 cab.

Ford cab 13- Cowl mounting bolts and washers

Hi Maurice,

Not a definitive answer, but if you look closely at the air vent area in the cowl of the 1945 Water truck post by Tony Smith the cowl appears to be held to the floor subframe by bolts and lock washers only.

It also appears the front-half mudguard section is held to the cowl with bolts and large flat mudguard washers.

This vehicle appears to have led a very protected life so there is a good chance the cowl area was never tampered with and therefore this could very likely be the correct fitment.

Perhaps someone else out there has an unmolested truck to confirm the same fitment of bolts and washer types at the cowl.
My trucks had just bolts and lock washers to hold the cowl to the floor but as they both were so heavily tampered with over the years I would not say with any guarantee that it was correct.

Good info , My F15A has the same set up , but I have seen Chevy`s with washers behind all the bolts , but is this then correct .
