Vehicles for parades in Cambridge...

I've been in touch with the local legions and have agreed to round up military vehicles for the following parades in Cambridge:

Canada Day (Dominion Day to the stalwarts) 1 Jul 06, and

Warrior day 23 Sept 06.

These are very well attended parades and THOUSANDS of locals come out to watch.

Anyone interested please book through me, and I'll arrange for a little gas money and see that lunch is laid on.

many thanks,

fitton

I thought I would post some pictures of the Canada Parade in Cambridge that was held earlier today.

First up is Tommy Allen's F15a welder. The man attempting to look important by showing somthing to someone is Charlie (Perry Kitson) Fitton. I should add that Tommy drove one of these trucks in Italy durring the war. He also drove it all the way in from London for the parade.

The two carriers in attendance this year.

First up is Charlie Fitton's covered in kit and a bunch of highlanders. Yes there is a carrier in there somewhere.

The next one is the T-16 belonging to Stewart Loy. Note the CC4 shirt just to the left of the T-16.

Here is Fitton's carrier underway during the parade. There were thousands of people spread out along the entier parade. It was a very well attended parade.

And finally a picture of yours trully, Me.

Im in the uniform of the RHLI very early in the war. I know they are hard to see but I do have the battalion slipons on.

Well ok one more. I snapped this picture while driving home. I have no idea who they were (yes there were 2 of them!). They did take part in the parade right up at the front.

What more can I say.

Jordan is right - it was another super Dominion Day parade event in Preston ( now part of Cambridge ) Ontario. The breeze made the high temperatures pleasant, and the many bystanders waved enthusiastically at the veterans in the vehicles.

Here is a picture of some of the many onlookers.

Stewart

PS - how did Jordan take his own picture with his hands in behind his back?

Jordan:

Tunic looks OK, but trousers are post war...and the hanger crease does them no credit! :D

14 days CB, that man!

How fitting (Fitton, get it, ha ha) that the LCBO is just ahead, on the right.
