Who can help I.D. this CANADIAN ARMOURED FIGHTING VEHICLES GUN SIGHT No1 MK4 Item number: 6625846043?
As far as I can tell it isn't a Sherman tank sight.

Hello,

Can you tell me what models of Sherman tanks would have used the following gun sight, and are there operating manuals available to know how they worked? I recently won this tank sight on an ebay auction, and as I collect armoured corps items, I'd like to know more about it. Here is the ebay description:

A complete Sight Periscopic A.F.V. No1., MK.4. V.F. 207597 by B&S LTD.No 2107. Made in 1945 Canadian C broad arrow marked. Optics are in like new condition.

You may view this item in pictures by going on the ebay US site, using the number 6625846043.

The Sight Periscopic AFV No 1 Mk 4 was used on the Centurion Tank Mk V ( or was in 1961). I have the item description from the Canadian Forces supply catalogue in that year. Contact me by email and I will scan it in and send it to you - essentially because I can't figure out how to attach something to a post.

Tank sight identification

I am hoping Forum members can assist in identifying this AFV sight I've had in my collection for years. It was sold to me without identification but it certainly looked like a WWII sight to me so I bought it. Highly visible is the C-broad arrow painted on the back and it also has the British crows foot marking on the optics. Can anyone tell me what vehicle(s) this was designed for? Many thanks, Patrick

Surely you jest?

Well that certainly proves my memory is failing! Thanks Michael for sending the link, I frankly don't recall my posting back in 2006 nor the response at the time. Does anyone have a Centurion tank in need of a sight?

I am pleased to share my Vice President of CRS position with you if you wish. :coffee
