2 Haflinger 4WD's for sale - How to get ID data.

Greetings

There are "2 Haflinger 4WD, plus parts", for sale in my area (Gloucester NSW).

I know the seller, and will try and arrange a visit over the new few days. Will take a camera. I will also ask if there is any other 'militaria'.

I know that this site ( http://www.remlr.com/ARN/ARNs_haflinger.html) has an Aust Army Haflinger register; I can try and get the engine/chassid details of these 2 vehicles.

Can someone tell me where I can find the chassis and engine numbers please.

Also, any idea on a suggested sale price? (it is a clearance sale auction).

Bruce,
All I can say is that if the Haffies are Aust. Army the data plates are fairly obvious in the "cab", if Civvy I have no idea where the numbers are to be found.

Hi Bruce,
The engine number is quite easy if you look at the bottom of the engine casing under the rear valance it is on a flange there towards the right hand side of the vehicle. The chassis number should be on a riveted plate under the drivers seat, but is also stamped on the gearbox casing. this can be found if you view the gearbox from just in front of the right hand rear wheel it is stamped on the only vertical flange you cans see. Clear as mud hey!!! If you PM me your email address I can forward you a photo I was sent by Dale at Halflinger Teknik.
Hope this helps

Daren

thanks.

The 2 Haflingers were definately non-military, according to the info and pics on the REMLR website.

Both have been sold; whilst I was having a close look at them there were at least 2, and possibly 3, blokes who seems to know a lot about them. One (I think) also told another that he already had one, here in Gloucester NSW.

I don't know how much they sold for, as I had left before they cam up for auction.

Thanks for the input.

Hi Bruce,
No problem, sorry I didn't see your info request sooner. Been away from MLU for a while
