Dutch CMPs

See Dutch CMPs for a selection of CMPs preserved in the Netherlands.

Hendrik is compiling a list of owners, in an effort to bring them together to beat the Corowa record . . . .

Enjoy!

THAT sounds like a challenge!

Good for you, Hendrik. Mind you, we have another Year of the Blitz coming up... and we'll make the 34 in 2002 record look like baby steps... :p

If we really tried we could get around 10 gun tractors alone... in fact we could do the 30+ just in 15Cwts.

This sort of healthy competition can only be good for the hobby!

Seriously though, if you all worked hard, how many could you get together? How about in the U.K.? Or (dare I mention it) Canada? :confused

Dutch CMP's

Hello Keith,

How many? the number of 30 15 CWT's are there, but the Gun tractors will be difficult, but I think that will be compensated by at least 4 C15TA's and 1 or 2 Otters. :D

We found after a short brainstorming about 100 CMP's in Holland, so there must be more. :smoker:

green Greetings Hendrik

And all of these are spread over a mere 41.526,00 sq km, yes, that's only 16,033.2782 sq mi. So we can leave home to break the record after breakfast and be back home for lunch! :D

Hello,I know this Chevrolet,

It is a very nice and original vehicle, in the late 40's rebuild as a firefighter, as there was no money all rifle clips etc. were used as clips to mount the firefighting equipment, one window is Ford marked , the roofhatch is in working order and it is well preserved. :)

Nice C8A Heavy Utility, although I have no idea what exactly it is doing in WW2 liberation tour. Although it might be better placed than the Hotchkiss Jeeps disguised as 82nd AB Jeeps. . . . ;)

Good news, Dirk!
Did you point out MLU to him?

H.

P.S.: Fact sheet from Gregg

P.S.2: Another C15 (albeit a Cab 12) with the same body

Hanno Spoelstra 26-12-07 16:07

Dirk,

What is the story behind this truck? Didn't it come from France?

I know the body came from the UK.

Thanks,
Hanno

Update:
- broken links fixed (Dirk, can you fix your own of the nice girl in front of you on the Lynx?);
- some related threads merged in an effort to keep track of where Dutch CMPs are going.

See Dutch CMPs for an update, including a number of CMPs under restoration: Cab 11 FAT, C60S Wrecker:
http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...Dsc_2942-1.jpg http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data...s/DSC03838.JPG

F15A Cab 11 CMD 4119, originally restored in the UK, ex-De Vrij, has found a new home in Belgium:

Good news is a recently restored Carrier:

And of course we should mention forum member Alex's Chev C8 cab 11!

Hi Niels,

The CMPs currently in Holland come from a lot of places: Holland, Belgium, England (my F15A), Canada, Denmark, Norway (my 20-cwt trailer), France, and most likely some more places.

I understand this CMP came from Denmark:

Dirk, "fox" is bargoens voor aantrekkelijk meisje. That´s why I said "Which nice girl? I was watching the Lynx, not the Fox! :D :D"

And thanks for the picture of the Fox also!

From http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fox

fox [foks] noun, plural fox·es, (especially collectively) fox, verb:
8. Slang. an attractive young woman or young man.

Here's a C15A which had a civilian career in post-war Holland (quite rare actually for a truck to actually survive that).

Some details:
Chassis s/n 2844429544
Ordernr. LV 311
Date of delivery: November 4-42
Vehicle model C15441-M-VAN-2

This C15A has remains of an air recognition roundel on the roof and a "56" on a red square. Who knows what that stands for?
