What a great meeting it was.......the field quickly filled with trucks, cars... but also carriers and bikes. It was great to put a face with some of the forum names!

Silvain; pity I missed seeing your Gun Tractor in person, but good to her the truck performed great and it was great meeting you in person.

Hanno, thanks for organising this.....and James, thanks for getting us all properly dressed in an MLU shirt!

No digital photography and colour film was expensive back in 1984 when I camped with the British in Normandy.

Of course I was much younger back then as well and what is now 'Canada House' was just a boarded up beachfront property.

The Achilles is of the Balmoralgreen foundation from France; they brought the Achilles to Arromanches along with their Sherman 105mm tankdozer and their M4A2 replica Duplex Drive.

It seems the Diamond T975 that was for sale in the UK for a long time has since found a new home here in Holland.

It's funny that you keep on "running into" the same vehicles all week....while other you only see once......which makes you should never hesitate to take a picture, in this digital time!

The Ford and Dodge attached are two examples that we only saw once during the week. I didn't look at the axles, but with the 13inch tyres the Ford looks to be a C11ADF(?). I just love the Italian owned Dodge D60L....I remember seeing it in 2009 and 2014 as well....I wonder if it's an MLU member???

C11adf

Alex,

Is in deed a C11ADF. Belongs to Stephen Perry and met up with him on Arromanches Beach. Unfortunately he did not have the vehicle down there with him (slept in) which was a pity as it would have been great to get the only examples of a C11ADF/C11AS together for a photo shoot. Unfortunately never met up with him again during the week.

Thanks Alex

Thank you Alex. Fantastic vehicles in an amazing setting.

I am still wiping the drool off my keyboard..

Ian, both cars together would indeed have been awesome. Well, maybe in 2024 than? I did have a good look at your Ford in Longues....awesome car, awesome work and very nicely kitted out!

You're welcome Tony...glad you liked the pictures.

Mariano,

Pity we did not meet in person - next time, eh?

Thanks for sharing your pics, looks you had a great trip.

It has been an unforgettable trip. Everything he had read on D-day or his photographs suddenly became reality. We stayed to cross the channel and visit museums in the UK. But 15 days were not enough .... We have taken with my friends more than 10000 pictures, so with time I will continue uploading pictures. For the next trip, surely we will meet Hanno! :thup2:
