Something is twigging my memory...have we seen that truck for sale recently (like...when it was still a truck anyways)? The box looks familiar. |
Oh NO....
...I will not be able to sleep tonite!!!!!
Imagine trying to register that thing. |
Custom Truck
The box looks to be from an M series M101 or M104 Trailer. The whole works looks like something from one of the vehicle shows the History Channel.

The long-lost prototype left hand drive Ford CMP for post-war production???? (Just ignore the misfit overhead valve engine and a few other details...)

Hanno, regrettably this picture is also in current use in the Wikipedia article for "Canadian Military Pattern Truck".

On the bright side, that is one less 8cwt on the restoration market, and therefore everyone else's 8cwt goes up in value.
Let's all pray this kind of 'love and attention' doesn't become a trend and starts gobbling up the original trucks. |

Well, at least they are better jobs than any of these!

What the
At least the 8cwt is closer to the original design. People building these vehicles do their best with what is available to them, and while reading this post we have no idea what they started with. I know that some restorers dislike the restomod types of streetrods. In fact a friend of mine built a 1934 Ford coupe street rod. It was fibreglass body on an aftermarket chassis and built to look like a 50’s street rod, complete with Matt black paint and flames. He went to a Ford only show in the States and people chastised him for turning the car into a hot rod and not restoring it. He couldn’t get through this person’s head that it was all reproduction and not an original car!

Stunning! What a great Resto-Rod.

It would be perfect for a high school kid that listens to rap music.

Safety????
I wonder how it passed an Ontario safety.
Being in the same category as a rat-rod or home built, it does not meet the requirements as "as-manufactured" as a result it would require to meet the modern safety standards. Bumpers, seat belts, reflectors, signals, lights etc. Interesting.... Eric |
