A pic of a Morris PU8 . What is unusual is the use of the Australian pattern antenna base and the location, the UK. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/P10262.002

Mike apart from the PU being made in UK, I can't see any other connection?

"Informal portrait of NX12846 Gunner (Gnr) Robert Leslie O'Donnell, 2/3rd Field Regiment, leaning on a Morris C8 Utility Vehicle, number Z4136217, and nicknamed "Rickety Kate". Gnr O'Donnell enlisted at Bondi, NSW, on 19 April 1940, and was captured on Crete in 1941. He survived four years in a German prisoner of war camp and was released in May 1945"

Hi Ron

I am thinking this scene with NX12846 was taken in the UK, he was with elements of the AIF that were stationed in the UK for a period. I am assuming the signals attachment would have taken their Australian made wireless sets with them to the UK . At that time, the sets would have been the W.S. 101 and W.S. 109. I was commenting on the use of the Aust. pattern antenna base in the U.K.

"In May 1940, the 2/3rd Field Regiment embarked on HMT Queen Mary bound for the Middle East. En route, the convoy was diverted to the United Kingdom"

In that case Mike, I guess it's as you suggest, that they took their wireless equipment with them. Ron
