ARC 502 radio

I just came across an RCAF ARC 502 radio transmitter and two receivers in their wooden shipping crates. Now this begs the question, what planes were they used in? They were surplused out of the RCAF in 1962. I'll post a few pix later.

I seem to recall on one of the ham radio groups somebody had one of these. It was Canadian as the US "ARC" numbers never went that high. It was supposedly a vhf/uhf set from a F86 Sabre jet.

Here's some pix. If anybody's interested in this radio I might trade for accessories for my 19 set. It looks like they were reconditioned before becoming surplus then went to Princess Auto.
I searched the net and came up with the following:
AN/ARC-502 UHF/VHF Transceiver; used in F-86
ARC 502 VHF Airborne stand-by can be used for ground back-up. (Runs off batteries and is a compact unit).
