Ford Canadian Military Pattern data plates

Something usually missing is a complete set of the zinc data plates. I have been fortunate to acquire some genuine new old stock plates which I'll be making available to the MLU community.

These are unstamped other than one plate which has a contract number and chassis number. This plate is interchangable with another which is blank.
The Publications plate is the one which is different for each model, and I have these covering the following Ford CMP models:
F15
F15A
F60S
F60L
FGT

To start though I have put a set of each on Ebay with a starting price of $40.00 Aust and postage of $4.50 within Australia. Postage to Canada or other destinations will be determined soon.

Have a look at auction number 190439866128. To see the others just "view seller's other items".
At the time of listing (ie as I write this) Ebay is having trouble posting the gallery images but hopefully this will resolve itself.

If you are interested in a set, the price is $40.00 Aust plus postage. Please send me a PM detailing which model you would like.

Each set is unique because of the chassis number.

Here's an example of the FGT version:

I have ordered plates from Keith and at his suggestion, any other orders in this part of the world could be included in one postal shipment.
Cheers,
Barry

Keith,

Excellent! I take it these are from an Australian source? I am asking because I am under the assumption the third plate is typically Australian? Attached goes a pic of the other three plates on the door of Canadian-assembled Fords.

Regards,
Hanno

Plates

Hi Hanno
Yes these are from an Australian source. The main difference is apart from the publications plate ours were sent blank and hand stamped at the factory.

Here's an example of a FGT No9:

The FGT No9 body ID was stamped onto a brass nomenclature plate which was affixed to the engine cover.

And here's a NOS example of the zinc plate.

Likewise the complete set as used here only has details on the publications plate. The second plate down with the SM was normally replaced by the one you see in the one on the vehicle in the first image in this post.

Keith,

Interesting to read they omitted the plate stating the chassis plus engine serial number and replaced it with one stating the motor (engine) serial only. Of course engine and chassis serials were the same initially, but later on the chassis got its own number separate from the engine (e.g. Chassis serial: 109943, Engine serial: 3G-66964-F)

Thanks,
Hanno

Hi Keith,
Do you have a set for the Cab 11 F30S?
There are none on the door of my cab11, so a set would be good.
Regards Rick.

Cab 11

Hi Rick

These are made for cab 13s. I don't know what the cab 11 had, but the one with Serial Motor, etc is a possibility. I don't think they had the manufactured in Windsor plates - I've never seen one even on a cab 12.

Perhaps our fellow members can enlighten us.
