I have a conundrum that I am looking to build a vehicle build on the Ford 11/12 cab F8, I already have the base vehicle to begin. The issue is the bodies were build in the Uk by two coach companies Mulliner and Stewart & Ardern. Is there anyway to find out if either of these companies kept the blueprints/plan even if these companies have been absorbed or gone out of business?

Sorry for my late reaction, been very busy lately. Anyway, I really like your plan for the F8 you recently bought!

As for original blueprints, I would follow up the leads posted in the earlier thread on this type of vehicle. Then, contact:

• the RAF Museum, as I think they ordered the conversion: http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/
• National Motor Museum: http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/
• local municipal museum(s) of the towns where Duple and Stewart & Ardern were located; they may have taken over files when the companies closed or moved.

And buy a book on coach building, to learn about the tips & tricks of building a coach-built body.

Mulliner still exists and is now part of the Bentley (Volkswagen) group. They are responsible for the custom ordered Bentleys. I contacted them years ago for info, but didn't have any luck. (also had a vision of making a replica....and still fancy the idea) "we never built this vehicle". I think your best bet would be the many pictures that are posted here on the forum.
As far as I know all were based on 12 cab F8's and all were used by the Brits and US.

Yes, agree epay is going to crush it self with unreasonable shipping fees and other added fees.

Unfortunately, things like $38 shipping will mean that things like this type of photos will end up in the trash because there will be no market.

But as long as it lasts, will have couple of searches running, for historical research purposes, an if a screen grab goes into my private research file, well.

Just a quick update on my research thus far. I have contacted a few museums with not much luck so far but I did receive a little information from the RAF Museum.

Unfortunately, outside of the entry in the Data Book of RAF Vehicles, we have virtually no information of the CO11DF.
I think the it all hinges on who designed the body, there may be some references amongst the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust records held at Gaydon. I know they have the minutes and some correspondence for Mulliner, these may reveal where the design originated from which will help you track down any plans..

13" Rims
 

As most people know the 13" rims and tires for the 8cwt are hard to find. The tires that are available tend to be agricultural tire and not road legal. My issue is the rims on my truck have had the "Farmer" modification where the rims have been cut and butchered into 16" rims.
On previous thread http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...d.php?p=212345 Super Dave mentioned mating the 13" rims with standard 15" trailer rims, so far everything is lining up making a much stronger and safer rim then what I have now.

New Tires
 

I've been tinkering away and have almost got my F8 sitting on new rubber, I have just one more rim to weld together. Once she is able to roll I will get a few more pictures of it inside and out

Very nice job Neil.. well done!!

Had a lovely sunny day and decide it was a good idea to pull the old girl out for a few photos and tinkering. Roof will be cut at damaged section and stored until needed

1. outside for the before pictures
2. Damage from the prairie winds
3. Test fit the hood from Bob Carrie
4. Roof off, my girlfriends son Ethan is my helper this weekend
5. Stash of parts that I brought home from Ontario

I should have thought of this the first time I saw the thread. I don't have a clue who to ask for wartime Mulliner RAF bus drawings, but I know someone who does ...

The VK62B Dodge belonging to Rick Jones had a wartime Mulliner body, and as you can see here;

... he got a copy of the body drawings from somewhere. Find Ricks e-mail - he is the admin of that site, and ask him where he got the body drawings maybe?
