Mk2 Carrier fuel tank sender units.
Just busy with fuel tanks at the minute, I have the original remains of my fuel tank, I have stripped it of its fittings to use in the news ones, however the fuel gauge sender unit is looking a bit tired.
Having never had to worry about this in the past, where do you guys get your sender units from ? |

Hello Richard
Rex Cadman had some a few years back. Stephen |
Richard,
I got some new ones from the States, a company called The Filling Station https://www.fillingstation.com/ who do all fuel gauges and senders. I sent them a picture of my originals and they matched them. Mine are fitted and work great. |
Mike you don’t happen to have the part number do you ?
|
Richard,
Not to hand I'm afraid. I will have a look next time I am at the barn where my carrier is kept and will post here for everyone interested. |
Richard,
Unfortunately I can't find any record of the senders I bought so no part number i'm afraid, however I have done some research again and tracked the supplier I used to Tri Starr Radiators, 1452 State Rt.89, Seneca Falls, NY, 13148, USA. tristarrradiator.com - email sendingunitguy@gmail.com The guy I dealt with is Dan O'Hora who remembers me and thinks the senders I had were King Seeley units. If you were to email him a picture of your senders he will be able to confirm that. The ones I have work well and are almost identical to the originals, just be aware that the float arm is central on the new ones where they are offset to one side on the originals so you have to bend a 1" offset into the arm to get it to pass through the slot in the fuel tank baffle. |
Thanks Mike, I am going to try and retrieve the part number off my original, the part is pretty corroded though. I will post up my results later today for everyone.
Cheers Richie |
