Great pics! From pics I have seen of crawlers and carriers for the logging & mining industries, these are built using Sherman parts, bolted to a newly fabricated chassis. Typically, bogies, tracks and gearboxes are used from cannibalized Shermans, so any former identity or type is usually no longer discernible. Hanno |

A couple of Grant tanks

http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/collect..._grant_2_7.jpg This pair of old warriors have been retired to a farm in the Western part of Victoria. The owner claims at least on of them will run, although it's obviously been a while. More pics |

The first tank pictured looks as if it could be an original Grant Dozer version, which according to Gary Zimmer, there were only 3 in service! (Grant III (M3A5) No.1 Mk.I dozer - tank fitted with La-Plant Choate M1 dozer blade, Numbers, WD24187, 24143, and 23751). I think, Keith, you will be fending off enquiries now as to this tank's location:devil:

Dozer
Well spotted, Tony!
Now, as to the location... I seem to have forgotten where it was... senior moment I 'spose! |
Nice pics of swords turned into ploughshares, Keith!

The second tank
was converted to a bulldozer also. Check the mounting pins on the side and the two torch cut I beams on the front glacis. I would imagine the I beams were for the lifting device.

The Carrier crane is mounted on one of the 200, 2pdr. Tank Attack Carrier hulls. Wonder where it is now.
