A guy in Victoria has one of these minus the tank
Found this pic and the details in the ARN book . The book has these as a 30 cwt which is incorrect , should be 15 cwt. The listing as a OX model is also incorrect but they have the w.b. as 101" and the tyres as 900X16 which is correct . Abandonded by COC ? not sure what that means . Boarded Jan. 45 Some of them went to Victorian bush fire brigades and the Premiers Dept. whatever that was. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C1140329 |

Brief history of the unit https://www.ozatwar.com/ausarmy/73aasl.htm Wonder if they took that same Bedford 50280 to N.G. as seen in this film of the 73rd Anti Aircraft Searchlight Battery at the 7.44 mark. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C256033 |
AH Jolly
Our old friend "AH Jolly" bought one of these MWC's ... Who was this guy , he pops up all over the ARN books as a buyer of disposal vehicles :confused
Wonder where the CFA/bush fire brigade examples ended up, you would think a 200 gallon tank would be useful around a farm . Probably is a tank or two sitting somewhere on a farm in central Victoria. |
