Nigel Watson Books

Hello All,

As a recent Carrier owner I have have been looking for the Series of books by Nigel Watson, but with no success so far. I have recently found a book dealer who has a couple of copies Nigel's issue 3.

Can anyone who has or has read this book advise if it would be much help in aiding the restoration of a Mk1*? I see from Nigel's old website that it contains drawings, but are they relevant to a Mk1*.

If anyone else is looking for series 3 I can point you towards the book dealer.

Many thanks.

Nigel Watson's Books

Hello Tom

Volume 3 came with a separate box with about 75 A3 drawings inside. They covered a mixture of diagrams for Mk I, II, III, Wasp and T16. I have seen second hand copies of volume 3 advertised before without the box of drawings so you would need to make sure if you get one that it comes with the box of drawings. It is well worth getting all 3 volumes if they come up.

Cheers Stephen

Hello Stephen,

Thanks for the reply. There are two copies of Vol 3 on eBay at the moment; one with drawings (circa £100) and one without (circa £49). The price seemed a bit steep to me.

Tom I have all 3 and the drawings. If you fancy a trip down the A338 to Bournemouth, you are welcome to borrow them to see which volumes suits you to look for first. Vol 3 is the thinnest and contains new information and equipment not included in the other two, Plus there are recollections from veterans. Ron

Thanks Ron, I’d like that. I need to pop down to Armours to pick up an eaust pipe for my WD/CO at some point so maybe I could drop in at the same time. I can also bring you the gearbox stiffener that you asked to borrow.

Tom

OK Tom, wrong forum really, but check with Armours before you visit, they told me they weren't going to stock CO front pipes anymore, however they do make a nice lookalike Royal Enfield silencer to my pattern.(they call me Military Ron) Hitchcock's now stock a good front pipe though. Ron
