Here is a picture of a ram tank that I just received.
The sign in the background is partialy visiable. What I can read is "Beach/ Ranges/ ?...ators/ ?......ing" ANyone recognize the background, could it be close to where that other Ram photo was taken. The one Im talking about is the one with the thrown track. |

Ram tank photos
I am looking for additional photos of the Ram, in all of its variants, in order to update www.RamTank.ca
All photos are gratefully received although I am especially interested in photos that show the CT number or the DND Registration number. |

New Ram pics

I believe these are previously unpublished pics of Canadian Ram tanks taken in 1943. No hint as to location but could CACNTC be Canadian Armoured Corps National training Centre?
Cheers  Derek |

It looks like the port for the main gun has been plated over in the one pic. Unfortunately, no further info regarding these pics.
Derek. |
Hi Sapper 740...
Nice pics - can you read the DND Numbers ? One looks like 41-1-36xx - can not quite get the resolution to read it clearly... A8 I suspect is the Training School these are from...will look that up and reply further... Many thanks for the pics Roddy1011 |

Mark -
You beat me too it.... I have been searching for a number of years for listings of those tracked vehicles with Canadian serial numbers as opposed to the UK T numbers - have you had any luck ? Roddy de Normann |

As I continue going through my stuff. came across this pick..alas, no idea where, when etc.. but I'd guess that it wasn't getting out of that mess without some serious help.

One can certainly see the future Kangaroo in one of the side shots, can't one?

Ram at Debert
1 Attachment(s)
This is a photo a friend gave me - her father posing with a Ram at Debert 1942 I believe. He was with the BC Regt (4th Arnd Div) en route to UK. Could also qualify for "in the background" Chev cab 12

Does anyone know who won the e-bay auction for the photos shown at the toip of this thread?

Are these unknown originals or have our canadian friends seen these before? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHOTO-CAN...item2a21eb046e http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHOTO-CAN...item2a21eb2783 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHOTO-CAN...item2a21eb1083 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHOTO-CAN...item2a21eb1e1a No connections |

Thanks Ryan,
Check www.ramtank.ca, I don't think these have been seen before. Sadly it seems there are no indications of location, date, unit etc. But no doubt someone will identify the turret marking on CT-40100 (which incidentally, was the last Ram II built with sponson doors). Most likely severe weather conditions led to these incidents. H. |
Roger Lucy's 200+ page book on the Ram is in the edit stage right now and I am busy placing photos in the text.
Hanno - Can I get a 300DPI scan of the latest photo? Derek - I sent an e-mail about the Ram being crated, can I get a 300DPI scan of this also? The book "The Compleat Ram" will be available early in the New Year. Clive |

This same 'dagger' was worn as a sleeve badge by units of the brigade in 1942/1943, much like the 'Ram' sleeve badge worn by units of the 1st Canadian Army Tank Brigade, in 1941/1942. Cheers |

First RAM ever

My apologies if this pic has been previously posted: Here's the first ever Ram Cruiser tank produced at the Montreal Locomotive works which rolled out almost 72 years ago on June 30, 1941.

First Ram

Interesting, I had seen the picture before, but not the caption indicating it was of the first Ram. Here it is on it's official roll-out at MLW on 30 June 1941, being inspected by CD Howe and Col.Ralston. It's pretty amazing, from a twinkle in DND's eye to the first prototype in a little under 10 months!
