Jagdpanzer IV variants

Got a question for the Armour nuts in this forum. There are two Jagdpanzer IVs in this pic, one with the original 7.5cm variant of the PAK 40, the other with a longer barrelled gun equipped with a muzzle brake. Is one of these the rare Panzer IV/70 hybrid where German engineers mounted the entire upper armoured hull of the Jagdpanzer onto the unmodified chassis of a Panzer IV? I've read of such a vehicle but haven't as of yet seen a picture of one. Apparently only 278 were built before the end of the war making this one of the rarest German tank destroyers. Derek.

Two regular Panzer IV L/70 (A) to me

Hi
I see 2 regular Panzer IV L/70 (A) - A for Alkett, that mated modified JP IV upper hulls to Pz IV chassis as you wrote
No muzzle brake to me

I took a closer look at the picture and you're right, what appears to be a "bulge" near the end of the barrell is only a trick of light and shadow. If the pictures were better, we might be able to see if the first two road wheels were solid steel with no rubber, definitively identifying these tank destroyers. Derek.

Somewhere in the "Bulge", Colonel.
