WW2 Vehicle Maple Leaf Colour
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
We are finishing our Norton Big 4 in Canadian Training School markings, which we have largely got sorted, however we are unsure on the colour of the Maple leaf above the CTS and coloured square marking. We have been advised that during the war the maple leaf was unlikely to have been gold but instead yellow. If anyone has any info that could help us we would be hugely grateful! Please see image attached of our ‘end goal’ and our reference photo for our restoration- you will see the maple leaf in question above the other markings on the front of the sidecar. If it was yellow, what shade would we use? Many thanks in advance! Ben *photo courtesy of Motorcycling.ca |

Gold/yellow (not metallic as you say) on black. It's the formation sign for "C.M.H.Q." Canadian Military Headquarters.
Here's the canvas shoulder titles for colours. |
I believe the CMHQ was a dark brown background
