O.K., now that you've let the cat out of the bag Ma I can gloat that you've moved back to God's country! When you get mobile you need to take a trip into the Flathead Valley which is in the S.E. corner of B.C. on the B.C.- Alberta- Montana border. Just don't go alone...the National Parks Service flies all the problem Grizzlies via helicopter to that valley. In fact, the Flathead Valley has the greatest concentration of Grizzly Bears in the world outside of Alaska! So take your frying pan with you when you go! I've shot a lot of game in that valley...I brought some of my trophies to Texas with me; a Mountain Goat, very large White Tail, and my pride and joy, a Grizzly bear rug.

 :salute: :drunk: CHIMO!

Hmmmm ... which one is Mike? and what does Norm the doggy look like? Maybe I've talked to them already ... the folks in this town very friendly and open so far :)

Haven't seen one griz-zel-ley type bear though ... maybe they're sticking farther SE and not venturing up to here ... if I meet up with one though, just one bop with my :fry: upside its hairy old head would turn him into a foot warmer on the floor for me :D

Garry, what part of the anatomy is the valley? Or do I dare ask?!? LOL!
Did you hear about the two Newfies going hunting for the first time? The first one accidentally shoots the other so he rushes him to the hospital where the Emergency Room staff hustles the shot Newfie into the O.R. About as quickly the doctor returns from the O.R. so the first Newfie asks if his buddy will survive and the doctor replies, "He would have if you hadn't gutted him!"

AAAhhhh, gotta love Oak Bay, the Riviera of Canada! Must be the proximity to the Japan Current. Oak Bay is always a month or two ahead of the rest of Canada for escaping Winter's icy grip. I remember my last visit to Vancouver Island, I think it was '97. We gathered Airfield Engineers from B.C., Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland to build some storage buildings for the Helicopter Squadron at Pat Bay. It was about the same time of year as now and the Eastern by's were amazed at how pleasant the weather was.
Unfortunately, someone in Manitoba left the door open and an Arctic blast has just hit Texas...our temp. plummeted 50 degrees F. overnight and we're now in the 20's! BBRRrrr!
CLOSE THE DOOR! YER LETTIN' THE BOUGHT AIR OUT!

Hey JD ... LONG time no talk ;) I hope all is well in Good Old Vic?
Oak Bay is a great area ... the first place we lived in in Vic when I was 12 was on Rockland Ave. Not far from Royal Roads I think??? (it's been a while) but Cherry blossoms ALREADY? Hmmm ... not here yet, it's still pretty nippy/crisp! And yes ... I'm taking it easy ... recuperating and enjoying the community and surroundings so far ... haven't had to bring out my :fry: even once as yet :D

PS: anyone here know where to get a good walking-out kilt (I need a MacKenzie)? Don't need and can't afford a dress kilt, but methinks it's time to assert m'self; ammunition boots, a kilt and a khaki beret kind of settles my headspace. It's been too damned long, and spring's a'comin'... [/B]

Well Ma, someone finally shut the door to Manitoba and we're back up to 81 f. (27C.) , although the forecast doesn't look good for the weekend...rain and cooler weather. I guess I shouldn't complain if it rains once every two or three months, should I? especially after living in Vancouver for 46 years! I was talking to my daughter a couple of days ago and she told me this has been one of Vancouver's wettest winters and that they had 56 uninterrupted days of rain this winter!!! No thanks!
Take care Ma, Canada vs. Germany is about to start and I don''t want to miss any hockey!
