Question for a Seaforth Highlanders of Can expert please

Dear Forum members,
I’m looking for a Seaforth Highlanders of Canada expert who might be able to tell me what company a soldier I’m researching served while engaged at Ortona. The man in question is A/Sgt Eric F. Sellers, killed on Christmas Day 1943.
I’ve checked all the usual sources and have come up empty, hoping someone out there may have some unpublished or lesser-known rolls of Seaforth’s that include company designations.
Any help gratefully received with much thanks,
David

Have you checked with Colin Mcgregor-stevens? He might be able to help or point you in the right direction.

Have you found and scoured the War Diaries? Working backwards you might see the name as an NCO, vs an ordinary soldier. There will be weekly and monthly parade states, which may list the man by name.

Hi David

Did you see his Service File? I had a look but no mention of Company anywhere that I could see. Names of Parents, Sisters and Brothers in there too but cannot see any reference to sub-unit assignments.

I also noted that he had a number of service discipline issues, had previously been in hospital and had reverted to Corporal by the time of his death. A good read.

No doubt there will be someone along soon enough to be more help. Good luck.

regards
Darrell

service discipline issues

Seems having discipline issues wasn't unique in the Seaforth Highlanders. Even a VC winner got busted down too.
