RT68 Transceiver w/ PP112

I have a couple of M37 CDN (both 1954) one of which was an radio truck with a rack across the back of the box. Was told that there was a second shelf above that rack. There is a small Gen/Set mount plate by the tailgate. Two battery mounts under the rack. There looks like there are mounts for a mast on the outside (front side of the box). Only has a crew seat on the right side and a metal document box mounted on the inside of the box.

Was told that Canada used RT68 radio's but can't find that fact. Have a Set 19 for my Universal Carrier and was told that that was used too in a M37

Any info on configuration or photos would greatly appreciated.

Thanks Guys

Bob

The RT68 was part of the GRC-3 system which also used the RT66 or 67 and the RT70.

I haven't seen any info (photos or manual) on it's use in the M37 however the military did evaluate them. There is a file in the Library & Archives (HQS-8812-7-5 ) where the US system was compared to the C42 & C45 sets.
It's an open file (not restricted) so it may give a clue.

WS No 19s were definitely used in M37s.

They were mounted behind the cab, with 2 x BB46 (90 AHC batteries) situated elsewhere in the rear cargo compartment.

If an M37 was so kitted out, it was referred to as FFW (Fitted For Wireless).
