Unusual? Blackout Headlight

1 Attachment(s)
The typical blackout shield for CMP trucks is a hooded plate that replaces the curved headlight glass but uses the existing standard reflector in the headlight bucket. However these blackout headlights are an integral unit: reflector with a prefocus bulb and a hooded shield held by three screws. The 3-prong plug allows them to connect to the standard commercial headlight socket. They are very reminiscent of the style of the Canadian MB hooded blackout headlight that could easily replace the original “sealed beam”. Anybody know more details? If you have one then it takes patience to heat up the outer edge of the housing the release the sticky rubber gasket to allow you to pry off the front shield plate to service the bulb. Brian
PS They are the same size as standard CMP truck headlights: I wish they were for the slightly smaller Harley WLA or White half track and scout car headlight buckets!!

Have you noticed....

Hi Brian

Some of these lights have half of the bottom section of the reflector painted in flatblack....... and they all seem to use the prefocused Mazda light bulbs.

I tested one of mine with a 12v battery...Duh!!!!...... it went off like a flashbulb!!!!!

May the light be with you!!!!!

Those look identical to the MB ones except larger. Right down to the phillips screws holding the diffuser on.
