these items date back to the M-38A1cdn 2&3 , I saw them first with the QYRang's, but I've never seen paper work on them, these were used with the 524 family of radios,

Frank has it right re the time period of introduction. The Canadian based NSN dates back to an introduction date of around 1977.

During my Recce days with the RCH. I mounted one on the roll bar with pipe clamps. (Between the 2 front seats) Never did like the idea of only relying only the "Rad Op"

We only used headsets and hand mikes in the Iltis. Boom mic we only used in the Cougars. Sorry I cant recall if I could hear the rad op transmitting. It's getting to be a long time ago. I had installed the box with the 524's. The TIC's had a plug up front.
