Canadian aircraft receiver early WW2 ?

This is a unusual set and it looks to be unused with its transit case

It was quite common in Canadian surplus markets for a number of years. This model, AR2 is for 14V and the AR6 is 24V. They were paired with the AT1 xmtr.

Most common use was light aircraft and trainers like the Anson the seller mentions. Also used to ferry Lancs & Mossies across the pond to England. Sets would return with ferry pilots for next trip.

Photographs show the combo also used with crash & rescue boats.

I still have one in the transit case but it was modified by the RCMP for use in their Winnipeg radio shop.

Anson

The RAAF Anson aircraft here , there were many, were normally fitted with the R1082/T1083 wireless set of UK origin or the local AT5/AR8 AWA sets. That Canadian set is a odd ball set and I've never seen one before over here.
