Thompson SMG

Can anyone tell me what mdoel Thompson SMG did the Canadians use in WW2. Was it just the 1928A1? Were Thompson M1's used as well during the Italian campaign?

Need help fast and pictures would be great too.

Please reply to post.

My cousin went up through Italy with XXX Corps as a truck driver and he carried a Thompson. He was proud of the fact that his had the "Gangster" rotary clip, all the others in his outfit had the stick magazine. He never did explain how he came to have that mag.

Tommy Gun

The example of the Tommy Gun that we have in our museum is the M1928A1. It has the split cocking handle on the top of the gun.
Type Thompson Gun into your browser and you will get all kinds of information.
