Rick,
is that the rear compartment floor rusted through, along with portions of the engine rails? Not running, transmission not shifting? Shame, as it does look outstanding cosmetically when viewed in the museum.

Michael, I wouldn't have a clue as it is a heads-up to share with you all.

Regards Rick.

Yes they are.

This is the stuff that didn't sell at they auction of a few years ago.

When I saw them in the museum I also thought they were in better shape!

Carrier for sale info

Anyone know anything about this machine? It’s close by to me. I’m not able to do a restoration any more.

Carrier

I also posted about the same carrier. It looks like it was a movie prop. The axle shafts have been removed to allow it to be easier to move, and it comes with a replacement axle assembly. Also by the condition of the interior, in my opinion it has not been operational for a long time. Probably not your cup of tea if you do not want to do a restoration.

maple_leaf_eh 16-09-18 19:19

I agree it looks missing parts, as well as being mislabeled. If your Sexton project didn't do you in, this one might.

Another item on offer is a Burma Jeep. What pray tell, are we looking at?

I think we have seen this T16 before. IIRC, it was externally restored only for display in a museum. Certainly not a runner.

Hanno

Ford GTB 1-1/2 Ton 4x4 Truck, dubbed "Burma Jeep". It was used primarily by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the Pacific.

That one has the cargo bed. Almost every example you see has the bomb hoist on it. The bomb hoist being what the truck is most known for.

For both vehicles it appears somebody got a little happy with the olive drab in a sprayer.

I am not sure about the Ford GTB, but I am pretty sure the T16 is ex-Victory museum Arlon and Auburn.

Hanno Spoelstra 20-11-18 21:06

$1100 US, really?!? Did the auction go unnoticed or would the prospective buyers have hesitated because of the work it needs? Still, that's a steal...
