Wanted: modern part numbers for CMP Chev points, rotor, distributor cap
My NAPA parts guy (a young pup) wants modern part numbers for the above. Mine from 20 years ago are apparently not current.

I find that NAPA will often change up from the original GM parts number. Can you list the Chev numbers from the manual? Afraid I got rid of all my chev parts manuals off my bookshelf here.....they kept leaking oil all over the shelves. A quick check on NAPA's website lists the points as CS779A which are kind of expensive. I just went through this a month or so ago at work and there are cheaper sets form NAPA. Retail is $39.59 with a trade price of 24.77. There are other part numbers that are half of that price. Besides, NAPA seems to be out of the 779A points right now. The cap is listed as RR95. Retail is $36 and trade price is 22.36 List the part numbers and I can confirm better. |
GM rotor number 820445 is a NAPA RR83 or a little cheaper is the RR83SB. But I don't see a lot of the latter in the NAPA distribution centers so you may want to go with the RR83.
GM condensor pn 1928111 is either a RR176 or for twice the price a RR174. |
Rock Auto
I have had pretty good luck finding part numbers with Rock Auto.

Once I mop up the oil under the Chev parts book I'll get WW2 era numbers. |
That's 1 all. Next!
