Quick question.... were they manufactured in Canada as well as the UK? Just interested in the availability of a project vehicle on that side of the ocean :-) All seems a little quite in the UK as far as Restoration projects goes.

Alastair,
The Daimler Dingo was built in England, but Ford Canada produced a lookalike version called a Lynx. The hull was very similar, but that is where it ended, as the Lynx had normal truck type axles and transmission, whereas the Daimler had fluid flywheel, pre-select gearbox, permanent 4wd with centre diff. There was one more copy, and that was the Lancia Lince, the running gear being very much a copy of the Daimler.
You would be surprised how many possible projects thare are in the UK, you have to keep your ear to the ground :)
