Put it in For Sale or Trade

Hi Joel

You ask a good question, I'd say go right ahead and put it in the For Sale or Trade heading with a big WANTED on it. There may be a name modification of that section coming anyway to make it clearer that is where parts, vehicles, things belong.

Couple of the moderators have been talking about how best handle wanted request to cut down on cross thread posting. One of the thoughts being considered that seems to make senses, if what is WANTED is INFORMATION then put it in the Sub Heading that is most on topic. If it is a THING that is WANTED then put it under For Sale or Trade.

Would most people look at a heading like - For Sale, Wanted or Trade ?

There are of course exceptions to any posting guidelines that should be considered. Such as when a part wanted request is part of an on going restoration thread what should we do then I'd say do as you have done put it in the restoration thread, and if that doesn't yield results put it in the For Sale or Trade.

I would prefere this to say For Sale, Wanted, Trade.

Changed it to For Sale Or Wanted a while ago.

Thinking about moving all the "heads up" and links to ebay listings to a separate subforum. What do you think aboout that?

Thanks,
Hanno

I think how it is is just fine. The "heads up" posts are still for items that are for sale.

I agree with Jordan...

The last changes with special HEADERS..... for heads up, for sale, wanted seem to work fine for me.

Unless it is causing some logistical problems I would leave it as is for now.

Thanks Hanno for all the work your doing.

Will write you a PM on another topic....

Hanno, I think Bob and Jordan have it covered. If a new person reads the info that is posted, it is pretty clear. I tried to buy a carrier on here once. It became an auction. I like the fact that a fixed price has been required since about then, and that if an auction is the planned method of sale, that it goes elsewhere.
I think you have in place a great system. Let it continue.
Thank you Hanno.

Simple, conveniant and effective.
Thanks Hanno
Rich.

Agreed, I like it as it is. Too many sub forums can lead to confusion.
