Morris Commercial C8 GS Front axle swivel seals Needed,

Hello all,

Maybe a cry in the dark, but i am looking for oil seals for my Morris Commercial C8 4x4 GS.
These are the front axle swivel seals that keep the oil at the tracta coupling and the ball on which steering acion takes place.

See underneath picture for explanation,

Thanks all,

Are you looking for the seal or seal holder?

Hi

Unclear if you are looking for the ring that holds the seal or the actual seal that rides on the ball?

Reason I ask is that I've made very functional seals from leather on CMPs. Will look for photos of how if it would be of help.

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil.

I am looking for the actual seals, the rings are in good order so no need to replace them.

All info on replacements or substitutes are welcome, so if you have some pictures I would be happy.
From what i understand is that this kind of seal is rare, so probably i will be forced to make an alternative.

Thanks,

Sjoerd

chrome

Hi

The seals will always leak if the hemisphere surface is pitted . I have seen this problem before and you can fix the problem if you have the hemisphere chrome plated , this will make a smooth surface for the seal . I think Dodges used felt seals , not leather . Maybe you can use some felt and make the seals yourself. Good luck Mike

Thanks Mike,

The surface is not really pitted, it is in a quit nice condition.
I think the seals are just worn after the truck sat still for almost 30 years and now being used again.

I filled the hubs with SAE 250 (also known as 600W) oil, leakage has stopped :-)

Thanks.

Sjoerd
