G'Day all,
I have been keeping you up to date on "Ganmain Tony's" F60L restoration via my F15 Restoration thread.
I have started this new thread for Tony's F60L restoration to save clutter on my F15 thread.
Keep up to date on Tony's efforts here
Thanks,
HH

Way to go!

Now all Tony needs is an internet connection. :p

Seriously, what a difference from a dead wreck to something alive.

Good work. :salute:

Incidentally I couldn't open the link to Tony's page.

Link

We're working on a computer for Tony.
I tested the link & it worked OK (on a different computer with no cookies). Anyone else had dramas?

OK

Got it now. Maybe the server was having a cadenza when I tried last night.

Looks a lot easier to get at with the bus gone.

Good show.

F60L

Just add 'Vrrooomm"

What a transformation! It looks even nicer now it's out of it's alternator role.

Spare Carrier & Toolbox

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone tell me, based on the tray fitted, which style of spare carrier & toolbox do we need to be looking for? Were the drop sides of the body steel or timber?
Thanks Boys

Update

Just to let you know the F60L made it into town, at a steady 10kmh & powered by an 80hp diesel. Tony has evicted his car into the winter frost to make room for the blitz in the car shed. I'll keep you posted on his progress.
HH
By the way, my shedfullofshit website is down so links in the post above won't work until I get it sorted.

Looks like a real fuel guzzler though... and not even ONE horsepower!

Advice

Tony has almost stripped the cab from his truck. A couple of questions...
1. what kind of timber is used in the 12 cab framework?
2. what timber is used under the seats & for the rifle butt holders?
3. What stye of sides should be on tony's back? (The truck, that is...) Timber or steel? If timber, what was traditionally used?
Thanks,
GT

Truck Stuff

1. what kind of timber is used in the 12 cab framework? I would say Oak from what I seen on my 12 cab and dodges

2. what timber is used under the seats & for the rifle butt holders? Oak

3. What stye of sides should be on tony's back? (The truck, that is...) Timber or steel? The Tray is a latter model ie 13 Cab, it looks just like Robs dropside on the Moo Cow Blitz that was at Corowa this year. The Drop sides are steel and real Heavy both sides are one piece units. It may be a couple of weeks away but I should be able to snap some photos for you.

PS does the tray have reqtangular plates welded on above the rear wheel positions? it probally should have wheel arch boxes but most Cockies removed these to increase the useable load area.

Try Australian Hardwoods like spotted gum or iron bark you could also sourse New Guinea rosewood also called merbough that stuff is F22 rated and will not rot for a 100 years in a damp situation and longer when dry

YIKES!!

That sure ain't the same truck I saw when I was there... :D

Howard, ferchrissakes, kick Tony's butt and get him online!

Howard 18-06-07 05:52

Tony

Yep, Jiffy, same truck!
At this point in time the truck cab is all but stripped & engine due to come out later this week for delivery to machine shop this weekend.
As for getting Tony online, I think he'll see how much cash he has after fixing the truck!
Cheers

Howard"s mate Tony

Tony called in last night and we had a good catch up, he also had a look around and found some goodies to take home. You"l be surprised what Tony can put in his boot.
Max

Howard 06-08-07 02:07

In the boot!

Max
He rang this morning & told me what he had. I asked him when he intended to go back & pick them up... I couldn't believe it when he said that the stuff was in his boot!
Cheers

A session at the sand blasters has revealed the chassis number
I make it to be 2G40847F
Can we learn anything from this number?
