Australian Sigvan components

4 Attachment(s)
Has anyone got a list (numbers and description ) and pictures of all the radio components and ancillaries fitted to an Australian GM Sigvan ?

Also has anyone got any components to suit for sale ?

There are some for sale now in the eBay thread in the for sale section

Thanks Ryan
That's what prompted the question
I have a sigvan and probably about time to start looking for gear in the back
Will have a go at the ones on ebay but if anyone on here has any components I would be interested

stowage

I have the stowage diagram, as published in the 1944 equipment memorandum No. 13 . It lists all the different wireless sets and more eg three sub types - A B C setups . I think the diagram is posted on this forum somewhere already.

BTW if you ever see the 1956 Melbourne Olympics colour movie, they used a army sig van following the marathon runners .

Those pics are of AndrewT's van at Corowa maybe ? . He spent over $1000 in fuel driving it to and from the event .

in the list of stuff in the diagram , there was a bottle of distilled water for the radio batteries .

Thanks Mike
Don't know where those pictures came from . Found them on net
Stowage diagram sounds like a good start

Thanks Keith
Driver must of had confidence in brakes. He wasn't giving much of a gap to the runners :D

Thats a neat piece of detective work.

Its Melbourne and the sun is shining .

In that movie, the scenes of the MCG reveal army signallers doing their stuff on the track perimeter

I'm not familiar with them but the police motorcycles look to be Square Four Ariels.

David,
I would agree with you on the Ariels.
