Daimler Scout headlight size(s)?

Wonder if anyone can confirm official diameter size or sizes? Seems the earlier model had larger headlights - maybe 10 inch diameter, while later models were 8 inches or less?

Dingo Lights

It looks like your first picture show a light similar to a CAV 8" one , in diameter and your second picture is of the War-Time Bulter headlight, which at a guess is 5&1/2" to 6" in dia, would have to go and measure my Dingo to give you an exact measurement, Cheers Andrew.

HECTOR landed at Dieppe on August 19, 1942 as part of the Calgary Regiment HQ squadron and never made it back.

Hello Andrew, thanks for those measurements, and I think you are right about the CAV 8".

I've only some scale model kits to base measurements on, but estimating the front box as being 68 inches wide, and taking the following photo (rotated a bit to easier measure horizontally):

Scaling the photo to match the box width, the headlamp measures out to almost 8.5 inches. If the light frame is a 1/4 inch thick all around , that leaves 8 inches for the lens, if that is how they are actually measured?

Hi Bruce, thank you for the historical connection. Dingos used for training were of the earlier mark based on the photos showing a revised headlight arrangement from the Mk IB to Mk II. Yes, Hector serialed F64306 was at Dieppe:
