Hi all ,
Does anybody have one of these for sale or even one for some photos and measurements so I could fabricate one thanks . It’s for the oil and water tins to go on a 42 lend lease chev

If you can obtain one of those 2 gallon cans with the brass screw top (common here in NZ) that will give you all the dimensions you need. You will need some of those cans anyway, as they were the ones used on wartime trucks. See pic attached of mine for my LRDG truck (same cans but different holder than your truck)

Thanks , I’ve got plenty of these cans , about 12-15 of them , so I’ve got the rough demensions , would like some more specific details

Shaun,

You have probably discovered already that Aust cans vary in size with the maker, and are different to the Canadian/British 2 gal cans. Aust can holders were dimensioned to take the larger Aust cans.

Wrote an article on this some time ago called 'Fill 'er up, mate' published in Army Motors, which included a tabulated set of dimensional data for Aust cans of different makes.
