Ben Hur Tires

Anyone know where to get some 7.50 x 20 non directional tires for a Ben Hur trailer in Canada?

rob love 03-12-17 04:38

I would be very surprised if you find that size tire in Canada, and if you do, it will be with a 100% markup.

I would suggest you purchase them form summit racing in the US, and get them shipped up to the border and bring them thru yourself. They ship for free....the price per tire is $342 Cdn/266 USD.

Tires and Walllace Wade

I cant find any current Internet references to Wallace. Is he out of business?
Does anyone have any information about what happened to him? We had a good relationship and I hope he is well and just decided to retire.

Wallace never did have much of an internet presence. In fact, if you have dealt with Wallace in person, he was still using the old "kuchunk-chunk" machine to process your credit card. End of the day, his prices are pretty much in the ballpark with the others, so unless you are buying from him in person at one of the conventions, you are likely better off buying from one of the places like summit tire or simple tire who offer the free shipping.

I see his facebook page is still there, with the last post from a customer just 4 months ago.

Oooops, just spotted on another site that it is reported that Wallace Wade tire shop has closed. https://www.yelp.ca/biz/wade-wallace...y-tires-dallas

Well for me it's 622km to the boarder so I don't know if it's worth driving down to pick up a couple tires. I'll try a couple local tire shops and see what they can get or look for a couple used ones maybe.

7.50x20 tires

One of the vendors who displays at the Milton Steam Fair event is Haugh Tirecraft from Exeter Ontario, 519-235-3752. Although he had tractor tires on display, I asked about military tires and he gave me a 2017 catalogue from m.e.Miller tire from Wauseon, Ohio which I guess is one of his suppliers. In the catalogue (USD) there is the following...

Try calling Haugh Tirecraft.

Cheers, Terry.

Haugh, Exeter - Huron Tire, Clinton

Terry

Both the above companies are connected and I have been in contact with the Huron Tire shop about 9:00-16 tires for myself and several other people. A bunch of us need tires for HUP,s and 15 cwt,s and I wondered what kind of price they could provide. They can land tires in their shop for what tires would cost in the USA. ( USD converted to CDN dollars)
So far there are four of us who want a set each and an order is going to be put together mid- winter. If any one in south western Ontario is interested in getting some, send me a PM.

9.00 16"

Hi Gordon; I don't see 9.00-16" tires in the Miller website listings. Do you have a SKU# that Huron Tire is referencing for your order? I would like to see if I can get them at a local Tirecraft dealer in AB. Im in the market for 5 tires. Thanks!

Wayne

The Miller site does not list 9:00-16 tires and I asked Huron Tire if they were available, and Miller can supply them. I don't know what the SKU # is because we haven't got past just finding out a price. This close to Xmas every one seems to concentrating on the season at hand.

9.00-16 size tire is $330 Cdn shipped to the border from summit. I find very few Cdn tire suppliers (Gordon's may be the exception) will supply the same tires at anywhere near the US list price.

I tried Integra and Fountain with no luck. I will try tirecraft. I could also use a set for my Ferret, m38 and Gpw in the future so it would be nice to find a local contact.
