Covid times cross border dealings US / Canada

Just thought I would poke my head up and pass along some experiences since February.

I have been involved with two significant purchases (ie many thousands of dollars in value) and sales and transportation logistics associated with each, one each way.

While each started out as what would in normal times have been a self drive or tow project and self clearance at border that is obviously not permitted for us mere mortals.

On the flip side the world of commercial truck freight traffic and hauling is alive and vibrant and quite keen to pick up part loads way more than in pre Covid times.

So dont despair, if there is something you want to buy or sell it is possible but you will have to use commercial brokers and commercial transport and accept that extra cost or loss of profit depending which side of the coin you are on.

Both transactions were seemingly impossible until the parties submitted to reality and ponied up and pad for it commercially.

Happy to share my experiences.
