Archie

Archie M is well known in these parts as is currently writing his life story. Champs, Humbers, cranes, ships, aircraft and earthmoving equipment were only a small part of his story.
Nearly all Champs in W.A. are ex- Archie and there are heaps of them over here, mostly wrecks with no back ends.

G'day Mike

I agree with Wayne, there are certainly a lot of them over here. Unfortunately they don't have the same 'following' as the ex army Jeeps and Land Rovers so most are in a state of disrepair.

This Champ was for sale about 12 months ago here in Perth. The fella wanted $1200.00 for it. Very complete but needed motor rebuilt.

Tommy is so right, compared to a lot of other military vehicles the Champ has a very small following, the upside of this is the bargain basement prices you can pay for a running and roadworthy example.( see thread in "For Sale") the moral of this story is that one day they will be worth a lot more and we will all hear the story's of how everyone can remember when they could not give them away. Reminds me of John Belfields tank museum, when he started collecting, tanks and armour were just scrap money, and we all know how much they sold for.
Get in while you can!!
Rich.
