Aussie Flag under Attack!

The bloody agenda-pushing ABC are again pushing for a change in our national flag.
They have posted an on-line survey for those interested. Go to ABC LINK and cast your vote!
PS. Don't let my distain for the Labor Party, erm, I mean ABC, stop you from leaving a comment here! All comments be it the ABC or the FLAG!
Howard.

frustrating

frustrating isnt it
These people obviously have far too much time on their hands .
Its about time they left it alone and showed respect for our forefathers and people that gave their lives defending our identity and way of life as represented by our flag
Got a feeling the republic debate will come up again soon too

Keith Webb 05-12-07 11:11

50/50

I just voted against a change - interesting to see the yea and nay are running even. Obviously not enough non-ABC staff voting.

How dare they!

Seems as though it's even-stevens! Or is it? Perhaps Hawaii had better remove the Union Flag from its flag as well!

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 05-12-07 11:47

All I know is that we lost our flag to the 'forward-thinking' (read nose up the arse of the guy in front) crowd, and in one swish of the pen, our heritage was flushed 'just like that'. The number of Red Ensigns I've sold in the last few years would seem to show that the change was far from welcome, significantly, within the generation which just missed the original debate...

Don't let it happen to you!

hrpearce 05-12-07 12:07

I just voted no and it is still shiwing50/50 after 3954 votes.
The shiny arses thinking up these changes need :no4:

aj.lec 05-12-07 12:10

interesting

It is interesting that the voting is 50/50 now when i voted a couple of hours ago it was 52 for change /48 against !
I certainly hope it dosent happen jif and all
It is about time these pencil pushers and self important people take a history lesson and show a little pride for once

David_Hayward (RIP) 05-12-07 12:18

Eh?

It's now 3986 and still 50-50...!

They could have written a wee script into their poll software, dumping in a handful of Change votes every few Leave it votes...

Howard 05-12-07 22:44

Update
4403 votes counted
49% Yes
51% No
Interesting, isn't it?!

David_Hayward (RIP) 05-12-07 22:50

4417 now, and still the same %. Geoff makes a very valid suggestion!

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 05-12-07 23:01

You can also multiple vote... but if you leave it about 5 seconds between votes, the counter goes up by two and the percentage stays the same. Looks like it's randomly incrementing your no vote in the yes column as well, hence the close vote. Very clever...

:no4:

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 05-12-07 23:04

Note, it does like a bit of delay between votes, you have to time it a bit. I've run it from 4429 to 4457 now, same %...

David_Hayward (RIP) 05-12-07 23:06

Well.//

...all of my family have voted and it just goes up by one vote it seems whenever one of my kids say adds their say. The % still remains the same though: very suspicious!

4470 now!

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 05-12-07 23:26

4518 now... it goes up one or two if you vote 'no' every five seconds, the percentage always remaining the same.

Note that they don't show the count for each category, just a percentage. It's fixed.

David_Hayward (RIP) 05-12-07 23:36

!

4560 now and sometimes it resolutely refuses to increase in numbers.
;)

Just went on to have a look and it now seems to be a different vote??

"Australia has fallen behind some other developed nations in teaching reading. Whose fault is that?"

Yet the answers do not seem to match.

What a coincidence tonight. I just changed my signature and it is very appropriate for this post of Howard's.
