Vic,
According to Chilwell records, this Guy pictured in your manual is the 3rd of the contract, which appears to be in three batches.
First batch; L4144684 - 4144688 5 vehicles
Second L4144690 there is a query with this one, may be on another contract.
Third L4144693 - 4144707 15 vehicles

Hope this is of interest, unfortunatly, with the small number produced, it is unlikely that one survives.

Richard

Well Vic, if you are looking for a good home for the Lizard instruction book, and as long as there is no-one who actually owns a survivor, I'd like to volunteer.

Regards,
Hanno

diesel Guy

Just read the Guy Lizard was fitted with a Gardner five-cylinder diesel engine? Very unlikely for an early WW2 vehicle!

Out of 21 Guy Lizard Armoured Command Vehicles, some were used in 1940 by the British Expeditionary Force in France. A few were employed by the 7th Armoured Division in the North African Campaign. The one pictured here was captured by the German army during that campaign (source).
