If you don't take into account that the ambulance body has been chopped off it. :)

Like all of these ambulances this is a very late production vehicle and the front shell looks to be excellent. It also has some goodies like the bumper, overflow tank and horn and if it's like most ambulances would probably not have done a lot of miles either. Those would probably be the original tyres too.

Interesting is the 2 fonts used for the ARN:

The second one I have seen on some post-war repaints of vehicles. Bit fancy, eh?

It's obviously the one it wore when disposed of because it's been painted over.

Looks like a faded deep bronze green.

Must look it up next time I get a chance.

Almost... the body was for a '42 Chev and was separate to the cab where this was the late pattern integral one only on a Ford.

learning continues

Australian CMP Ambulance body
While visiting Wangaratta during the Corowa meet this year I was approached while parked in the main street by a gentleman who had a bit of CMP in his yard. We drove around to have a look and I believe that the remains are for the framework of a Ford 134 inch ambulance. The frame was once Canvas covered but this is all gone and just the steelwork remains in good restorable order.

If anyone has a serious restoration use for this send me a Private Mail and I will arrange contact.

Australian Pattern with it's seperate body. It was from one of these that the body for sale a few weeks ago came off. :)

TINWORM!

Is that a bad case of tinworm I see on the front shell?

That could be a devaluing feature.

So, assuming it's low mileage, you're paying for a chassis, springs, axles, single speed transfer case and gearbox, steering box along with late production pattern front bumper and a few other goodies.

with that model if it is meant to be a ford model why does it have a chev overflow tank on it ?
Or do the oversea models have these on the fords too ? :confused

The model pictured is an Italeri 1/35 scale "Chev" 15cwt so hence the overflow tank being Chev. Someone has either mixed up their makes or done a half baked conversion without using reference photos. :)
