How about adding a location to your profile so the rest of use RATS (Rusty Army Truck Syndrome sufferers) will know where you are. You do know that CMPs tend to attract other CMPs no body can have just one for long. Cheers |
That is one very nice truck. When that was on milweb, I was very tempted, and that was despite the truck being on the other side of the pond.
Should you ever be taking it around the world, get a flat tyre (note the English spelling) and decide to abandon it on the Canadian prairies, please give me a call. |

It sounds like there is an interesting story behind this truck. Like Preston coming in with his low loader to save this F60S just hours before it was torched to pieces? Please share with us. Thanks, Hanno |

Hanno...story up here in the waste-lands is it was in fact the Bedford man Pete Gain who saved the vehicle plus a pile of related spares...then passed them on to Preston! regards malcolm

This picture taken a long time ago at a bus depo in Bristol seems to look allmost identical, the lights all seem to be located in the same position.

Hi Ben having two of these trucks both needing restoration, it would be nice to hear what plans you have for yours and how you intend to proceed ?
|
what's gonna happen next?
Hi Maverick,
Well having just finished a big project my FWD, i've decided i'm gonna restore this truck in two stages. First stage i'm gonna pull the cab and the engine and sort them and run it with a nice fresh coat of bright yellow paint as a 50s civvy style tow truck for a few years whilst collecting all and everthing else i need. Second stage having collected all i need to make the truck look like its leaving the factory, i will strip and restore it to within an 'inch of it's life' so that it looks as good as my FWD. regards ben |
