Not Tim Hortons ...
I guess there was a reason why I could never stomach Starbucks..Now I know why...
Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 11:15 PM Subject: Starbucks Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they Send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street -to-street and house-to-house. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. ; Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more. Semper Fidelis. Sgt. Howard C. Wright 1st Force Recon Co 1st Plt PLT PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS . . ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT! ! ! :remember :support :support :support :remember |
Hi folks,
After reading this story and immediately feeling choked up about it, wanted to learn whatever else I could about it, I googled .... what I found was a whole bunch of hits about this, none from any official media/news sites came up for me, but many from various other types of sites and blogs about the story and boycotting/stopping boycotting Starbucks ... What's being said is that, basically, Sargent Wright and Starbucks had further contact with each other and end result, he basically wrote a letter of apology to Starbucks for jumping the gun before checking facts ... Some of these sites show "copies" of letters (emails) exchanged between Starbucks and Sargent Wright to try and clear things up (are they legitimate letters?) I dunno ... I found no official big media/news stories through googling, to find out more to verify/deny. I don't recall hearing any stories about Starbucks boycott :confused Anyone else know anything for sure about this? :coffee :confused |
I don't drink their stuff anyway. Why would I when Timmy's has already shown their support for the CF?
PS. Does anyone have a spare Arid CadPat Tim Horton's cup? |

Hi
Got this from a mate who snapped it as I was leaving Theatre last spring for a couple of weeks leave. In Kandahar, the Americans were ga-ga for the "Ice Cappachino" and the Brits lined up long for the "French Vanilla Cappachino". So much so that I was forced to recently x2 tins of the stuff to RAF Lossiemouth. Shall I ask for scones in return?? Cdns were mainly a "Double-Double" crowd!! :D regards Darrell |
Now who's a happy boy, eh? :D (great pic !!!)
(I like iced cappucino, especially in hot summer Winnipeg where I had one :coffee :thup2: ) |

Sorry, chum. Have you checked eBay? Some of the 2nd Bn RCR guys were selling them there a few months ago. regards Darrell |

You might have a discrimination case against 9-er. :D regards Darrell (going back to the cave til Spring) |
