Unknown Door

Question for those of a wider vehicle experience than us Blitz owners. What are these door tops off? They came with a mixed lot when a local truck wrecker closed down a while back. Even took them to Corowa last year, but still no ID. So its up to the experts......
Thanks
Rich

Looks kinda like a jeep door, but too square. A bit of an oddity, maybe a british truck?

Richard Coutts-Smith 21-01-08 10:58

Thanks for the try Richard. Definatley not jeep, although it did come with 2 jeep side curtains. Appears to attach to a solid lower door a la Blitz.
It appears to have stumped the MLUers....as well as me.
Bye

Not a blitz one... the windows on the crew doors are square, and the No9 tractor used a canvas blind for the rear.

It may be for one of the modified conventional pattern Ford, Chev or Inters?

Or perhaps something U.S.?

Not quite. . . .how about an International M5-H6 truck?

H.

Thanks Hanno
but not convinced (yet). The inside of the door, on one of your linked photos, does not show any fixings for this style of door top, as well there is a constant angle on the front of the door top, whereas the Inter appears to have a vertical bit before the angle of the windscreen. More than happy to be corrected... these things have been bugging me for two years.
Rich.

Richard are the metal bits that fit in the door straight to fit a canvas door or are they bent to fit a double skin door.
Max

Max,
the attaching brackets are straight, not doglegged for a double skin door. Hadn't thought of that. So are we looking for a single skin metal, or canvas lower door?

Inter?

Hi Guys,
check out the "Inter Interlude" string a couple of images there show what may be the same door top.
Cheers,
Dave

Dave D.
Checked all my books for photos of pommy trucks with similar door set ups and could not find any matches.

Photo #10 on the inter-lude thread does look very similar, but hard to tell from the one shot. Maybe thats close enough, Does'nt look as though anyone will be able to tell me that I'm wrong ....
although, I guess if I take them to Corawa (again) with a big sign stating that they are definatley off an Inter, someone will come up with chapter and verse of why I'm wrong, probably with photos to prove their point. Works everytime!!
Thanks to all for your input
