Ahhhh Saturday morning...

Putz:

You do have to rub it in don't you.

Tomorrow is Nov Ist here and I am up to my ass in leaves, dying annuals and other such flora that has to get cleaned up for winter and there is no hope to work on any outside fun projects until April/May. I cannot add months too well but I believe your November is about our June.

Must be nice to be living in OZ.

Good start to the day.....you can't beat a bit of the old brown stuff on your toast ;)

No doubt we will see some tantalising glimpses of another old blitz about to be dragged out of its resting place. Did you by any chance, spot it from the air whilst filming Spits or Meteors? I think these air-to-air photo sessions are an excuse for a reconnaisance mission to pinpoint more relics :p

Croweaters find old junk

For overseas readers the state of Australia where Bob lives : South Australia , is where people are refered to as Croweaters .

Queenslanders are called Banana benders
West Australians - Sand Gropers
Victorians are called lucky cos we live in GODs own country
NSWelshmen are just plain brainless
Tasmanians are two headed

Hey Mike,
Is it not true that NSWelshmen call Victorians, "Mexicans", because you are south of the border?

Bob,
Thats a neat engine conversion on the jeep. How did they match the transmission to it?

Richard

Keith Webb 01-11-03 21:50

Hey, Bob...

At least the one we found we took for a DRIVE....

...And Mike, there IS a Mexican connection....

...and Bill, the leaves are on out trees, not the ground this time of year...

Come on, Jif, I know you like it... I have documentary evidence of you eating it and saying: "not bad..."
Faint praise indeed but at least you managed to keep it down.;)

Update on what we found? Not yet, but soon... Those Aussie readers should have a look at "Just Trucks" mag for a clue.

I think Euan knows him quite well.
He drove it a few kilometers... sort of a test drive if you know what I mean...
She has good brakes!

Blitz hunting ( poaching )

You busted me Max, I just hope Katrina takes a little longer to work it out.

Hey Bob the sales man did you find any Chev's while out spot lighting, I'am in needof a pair of windscreen frames for a prodject & all I seem to have in the spares rack are ford frames. I would like to swap or buy a pair if you or anyone can help.

Euan.

Re. V8 Jeep

Hi Richard

Contacted the owner but he didn't do the conversion. However what took place was the engineering of an adaptor plate between the V8 transmission and the Jeep transfer case. It was obviously a skillful operation. If I get back to see the vehicle I climb under to see if I can get more detail.

Thanks Bob,

Was just interested to know if it was the original gearbox, because I wondered if it could put up with the extra power.

Keith, like you said in an earlier post: the Australian Pattern Field Artillery tractor looks like a "HUP on steroids" :)

CGT interior

1 Attachment(s)
The interior layout as far as the back seat is identical to the #8 except the roof is higher in the crew section.
The rear has a lot more space.

Keith Webb 06-11-03 21:38

rear view

1 Attachment(s)
At the rear are double doors and a canvas blind. The crew seat in the previous picture covers a locker.
The lower storage bins are for POL cans, so a useful reserve could be carried. Although fitted with standard fuel tanks, the truck comes with a pair of 21 gallon tanks which were used on gun tractors, the F60T and C60X.

Max Hedges 06-11-03 22:04

Hey, Max what a good idea! Aaron is now a well qualified Blitz test driver and could no doubt "blow out the cobwebs" in the CGT. He could do the wading test and the top speed test all in one!
We could try the tug of war with the Carrier for good measure too, along with high speed cornering, point of balance on hillsides... the possibilities are endless.
Just make sure I'm there to film it.
