1940 chev staff car on Oz ebay

A Chev Pullman. 98% complete but in bits. Pretty expensive by the look of it or is it?

No, you are not.

A general remark about these sort of postings: try to bundle similar items in one thread instread of posting each item separately.

Thanks,
Hanno (off my moderator´s ammo box now)

Bundling

No problem Hanno.
I've been trying to do that of late.
Thanks if it was yourself who modified the "Blitz Bits" thread title for a better description.
I'll keep digging. If I get time I'll try and begin to cast my net wider to ebay in Britain and Canada.

41 Chev sedans are very rare cars here , although the Woodville figures suggest that there should be more of them around:

Chev AMF delux 620 ( AMF = Aust. mil. forces)
Special delux 169
Ridemaster 324

These are listed under 1942 production.. probably assembled in 42 . The quoted figures seem doubtful to me as very few of them have turned up anywhere.

This pic depicts two civilian examples in South Aust. Very few of them would have been released for civilian use .

We found a super rare military ute version of this car up in Nth Victoria , on a club trip ( 1981?) . It was in a isolated wrecking yard.. in very good condition , virtually nil rust in it . It was $100 .. somebody had taken the rear axle and front end suspension off it. The old yard owner told me it was originally used at Tocumwal airfield.. by the US army. The yard also had the remains of a WOT2 15 cwt.

I have a little book written by a former WAAAF, who was a driver at RAAF HQ M/T section, in Melbourne ( Victoria barracks ) . This was her car , she drove officers around Victoria. Its a 41 Chev sedan in the fancy 3 colour camo as per the 1942 official requirement. . The bonnet has AF 11008 marking .The drivers were required to learn how to service their own cars and they had a garage
in Sturt St , South Melbourne . Interesting book. WAAAf at war by EM Robertson
